Prayer For Salvation

Bible Reading

Psalms 119:57 -83

Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.
I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.  I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.
The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.
I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.  Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.
Let those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have known thy testimonies.
Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.
My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.
Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.

Old Time Religion

Old Time Religion

Being a true Christian is not a religion.  It is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  When we became born again we became a child of God.  Now if we were to sing give me that "Old Time Religion," that would also be referring to being born again. When someone wrote it, it was all about Jesus..and that's good enough for me...because Jesus is the real change in anyone who truly believes and receives Him by faith. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life.  Without Him, all you have is religion, but with Jesus, there is Life everlasting.

There is nothing standing in your way from being saved today.  The only one that may be standing in your way, is yourself.  God's not willing that any should perish in their sins.  His love proved it when He came to pay our sin debt.  He not only paid my sin debt but He paid yours. If you look closely at these verses in John (below) you will notice God's motive.  God sent His Son (because He loved people) that included you.  He has offered the gift of salvation to all people. Whosoever believes by faith and chooses Christ for their lives can be saved.  Being saved means to be forgiven and accepting Christ as your personal Saviour. God does not want to condemn you.  He wants a relationship with you, as your Heavenly Father. Without the acceptance of the gift of salvation,  you will remain condemned in your sin.  God has left the decision up to you.  When you accept Christ you become born again, the comforter, Christ Jesus, comes to live in your heart. Remember,  Jesus, resurrected from the dead three days after His crucifixion.  He was dead but now liveth evermore.  When you accept Christ, you are no longer dead to God, but become alive.  Thus being born again - into the family of God.  God does not want to send anyone to hell, that choice is yours.

The most loving thing a person can do for you is telling ou about God's love for you.  They are also doing what God has told them to do.  To warn every man, woman, boy and girl that Jesus is the only way to escape hell's fires. He's the only way to a heavenly home prepared for all who become His.  Will you trust Him today as your personal Saviour?  God will not refuse anyone who genuinely comes to him by faith.  Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. God says this in His Word and God never lies.  He loves you.  Make a decision to trust Him right now.  Don't give the devil a chance to change your mind.   If you would like to talk to a Pastor, please let me know. We will be praying for you to make Jesus your choice today.

 John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
 1John 5:12
He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Prayer, Comfort, And Joy Through The Holy Spirit

Romans 8:26 ¶
Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

We will know the comfort and joy of God by spending time with God, by worshipping Him, singing to Him, making melody in our hearts, praying for others, and ourselves.  He gives us grace through our troubles.  Remember, when you have no one to pray with; Jesus and you make two.  If you know Christ you always have a prayer partner.  (Jesus).  Elijah was alone when He prayed fire down from heaven. Daniel was alone in the lion's den and God heard his prayer.

There is power with one if faith is involved (even if it is as small as a mustard seed.) If God be for me who can be against me. David was alone when He fought Goliath. His family accused him of pride, but they were afraid to fight and he was the smallest one.  God is with a group of people praying or one that is alone praying.  Abraham prayed alone for the souls of His family.  God had mercy because of His prayer of faith.  There are many people alone in life and they need to know that if they pray in faith God will honor that prayer just as if it were a thousand people praying. God gave 15 more years of life because of a prayer of faith. It was a prayer prayed alone.

The Spirit of Truth - John 15:26 ¶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: (Will Testify of Jesus)

 Bible Reading

How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?
The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law.
All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.  They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.
Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.
Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
I am thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.
I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.
. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.  I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. {lamp: or, candle}
I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.
My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.
The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.
Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.  I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.
Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.
Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.  My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.
Be surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress me.

Psalms 119:84-123
